Lifestyle Redesign® Weight Management Program
Find greater satisfaction and pleasure in what you do each day, while you lose weight and keep it off!
How it the Works
You will meet weekly during the 16 weeks of this lifestyle modification process. You can choose between 1-hour group sessions, or 30-minute private sessions with your occupational therapist. Groups meet on USC’s Health Sciences Campus or University Park Campus; if you have a group of 8 or more, we can conduct meetings at your location! Individual sessions take place at our facility on the Health Sciences Campus.
Each week in the Program, you will explore topics like:
- Nutrition and fad diets
- Exercise and physical activity
- Balancing work and personal life
- Incorporating happiness in your daily routines
- Stress management
- Finding healthy pleasures and non-food rewards
- The link between eating and chronic conditions (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.)
- Increasing your energy
- Working with your body’s natural rhythms
- Emotional issues tied to food
- Cultural beliefs about eating and weight
- Social eating
- Healthy cooking and dining out
With your new knowledge and skills, you will be able to partner with your occupational therapist to create a customized healthy eating plan that works for you now, and will progress with you to become a long-term way of life. You will reorganize your current routines and develop new ones to form a balance of healthy habits, including physical activity, leisure and activities that are meaningful to you. The results: greater energy, improved health, a better quality of life…and a gradual, sustainable weight loss to meet your personal goal.
