Professional Development offers faculty and staff “uniquely tailored development programs, designed to drive performance through leadership development, performance improvement consulting, and optimized training.” Classes are offered free of charge to employees.

The Academic Leadership and Development Committee (sponsored by the Provost and the Academic Senate) offers programs especially designed for faculty and their particular needs and concerns.

The mission of the Center for Excellence in Teaching (CET) is to provide shared leadership, vision, and support committed to the inspiration, development, and advancement of USC's learner-centered education.

Center for Excellence in Research Workshops and Training

The Office of Research Advancement, through the Center for Excellence in Research, collaborates with the Offices of Compliance and Professional Development in training faculty and staff to become more effective in managing and initiating research.

Financial Wellness

USC Real Estate and Asset Managment

The Real Estate & Asset Management Department is responsible for the acquisition and disposition of all university-owned property, the negotiation and management of all university leases and the management of all leased space. This department also handles:

  • Neighborhood Homeownership Program
  • Faculty and Staff Housing Program
  • McCulloch Townhomes

The Faculty and Staff Housing section provides easy access to program descriptions and application requirements of the different housing assistance programs. A database of properties submitted by indivduals who want to lease or sell their properties to the university is also listed on the Faculty and Housing main page. The database is listed only as a service to match landlords with tenants, and sellers with buyers. To obtain housing assistance, all program applicants must follow required procedures.

USC Credit Union

The USC Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned by its members, offering a full menu of financial services and dedicated to serving the USC family in three locations.

Center for Work and Family Life

The professional staff of the Center for Work and Family Life are uniquely trained and experienced in providing USC employees with supervisory roles and responsibilities consultation and guidance for a wide range of matters pertaining to human relations.

Employee Relations

The Employee Relations Office facilitates impartial and timely dispute resolution of workplace problems for staff employees, encouraging open communication and face-to-face discussions.

Office of Equity and Diversity

The Office of Equity and Diversity investigates complaints by faculty, staff, students and applicants who believe themselves to be harmed by sexual harassment or discrimination and harassment related to issues that have protected class status.

Staff Assembly

The Staff Assembly is an officially recognized part of the University governance system and exists to contribute to the success of the University of Southern California and to the growth and welfare of its staff employees. The Assembly is comprised of 60 members plus the immediate past-president. Members of the Staff Assembly come from the University Park and Health Sciences campuses and represent both non-exempt and exempt employees. The Staff Assembly does not represent any employee covered by a collective bargaining agreement (union employees). Assembly members are elected by the staff of the university to serve two-year terms.

 

Academic Senate

The Academic Senate is the representative body of the entire faculty at USC, consisting primarily of representatives elected by Faculty Councils. As a voice for faculty working with the university administration, it strives to further the academic mission and integrity of the university as a community of scholars, artists and professionals dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge.

The Academic Senate Committee on Faculty Rights and Responsibilities plays the important role of supporting faculty who may find themselves in trouble. Located throughout USC campuses, the emergency phones and blue lights are connected to Public Safety’s 24-hour communications center. The phones identity the phone’s location are determined if the caller is unable to speak.

DART is a free service provided by TrojanTransportation to transport students, faculty and staff with temporary mobility impairments or individuals expecting a baby around the USC campus.

The transportation fuel station is open to all USC students, faculty, and staff, and accepts USC Card, cash, or credit cards.

New Pilot Program! Social Security / Medicare Help at UPC

USC employees and / or their family members can meet with a Social Security Administration representative on the first Thursday of each month for assistance with the following:

  • Federal Disability Benefits

  • Medicare Claims

  • Social Security Cards

  • Federal Benefits Verifications

Stay at Work / Return to Work Program

When employees are injured or ill, it is our desire to assist them in a quick recovery and return to meaningful employment. USC’s Stay at Work/Return to Work Program provides staff members, who have either an occupational or non-occupational injury/illness and are unable to return to full regular duties immediately, with a safe, timely transition back to work with modified duties based on medical restrictions until released to full duties.
