The Office of Equity and Diversity investigates complaints by faculty, staff, students and applicants who believe themselves to be harmed by sexual harassment or discrimination and harassment related to issues that have protected class status.

The Staff Assembly is an officially recognized part of the University governance system and exists to contribute to the success of the University of Southern California and to the growth and welfare of its staff employees. The Assembly is comprised of 60 members plus the immediate past-president. Members of the Staff Assembly come from the University Park and Health Sciences campuses and represent both non-exempt and exempt employees. The Staff Assembly does not represent any employee covered by a collective bargaining agreement (union employees). Assembly members are elected by the staff of the university to serve two-year terms.
The Academic Senate is the representative body of the entire faculty at USC, consisting primarily of representatives elected by Faculty Councils. As a voice for faculty working with the university administration, it strives to further the academic mission and integrity of the university as a community of scholars, artists and professionals dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge.

The Academic Senate Committee on Faculty Rights and Responsibilities plays the important role of supporting faculty who may find themselves in trouble. Professional Development offers faculty and staff a “uniquely tailored development programs, designed to drive performance through leadership development, performance improvement consulting, and optimized training.” Classes are offered free of charge to employees.
